Marie Pervenche appartient au courant artistique de l'art corporel.
Pour laisser une possibilité d'autonomie à ses oeuvres par le jaillissement de l'inattendu et leur permettre de dire autre chose que le reflet de sa propre psychologie ou de l'air du temps, elle utilise son corps comme matériau à partir d'un travail pictural puis l'intègre dans le réel à travers la performance dite sauvage et radicale.
En 2024 , son auto-encadrement performatif "Oeuf " marque un tournant dans sa carrière. En s'attachant nue devant la Joconde au Louvre, son œuvre révèle l'ironie d'une institution censée produire un imaginaire collectif paritaire, mais qui ne montre que des corps féminins omniprésents et uniquement représentés par la vision et le pinceau des hommes. Cette action lui vaut une interdiction formelle de vivre à Paris et de performer sur le territoire français. Exilée à New York, elle poursuit sa carrière artistique en dehors du cadre de la négociation patriarcale en exposant ses œuvres par le moyen de son concept corps/cadre .
Marie Pervenche belongs to the artistic movement known as body art.
To allow her works a certain autonomy—so they can erupt with the unexpected and express something beyond her own psychology or the spirit of the times—she uses her body as raw material, beginning with a painterly approach and then integrating it into reality through what she calls wild, radical performance.
In 2024, her performative self-framing piece Egg marked a turning point in her career. By chaining herself naked in front of the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, her work exposed the irony of an institution supposedly dedicated to shaping a collective and equal imagination, yet one that displays countless female bodies painted solely through the eyes and hands of men.
This action led to a formal ban forbidding her from living in Paris or performing anywhere on French soil.
Now exiled in New York, she continues her artistic practice beyond the confines of patriarchal negotiation, exhibiting her works through her body/frame concept.
